Willie Dale Melton

Willie Dale Melton, age 85 of Burnsville, passed away Friday, July 16th, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Helen Blevins Wright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, GP Melton, in 2019.

She was retired from Taylor Togs and Ledford Trucking after serving for many years as the payroll clerk.

Surviving is her son, Terry Melton (Sandra) of Fairview, NC; daughter, Melissa Davis (Bill) of Burnsville; brother, Danny Wright (Janice) of Burnsville; four grandchildren: Destini Whitson (Matthew), Sheena Cannady (Will), Mark Davis (Megan), and Megan Dollinger (Zach); four great-grandchildren: Braxton and Tobias Whitson, Mason and Miles Cannady.

Services will be held Monday, July 19th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones two hours prior to service time. Reverend Blaine Whitson will officiate. Interment will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 20th in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Asheville.
