Robert Carroll Blackburn

Robert Carroll Blackburn, age 89 of the Concord Community, passed away Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. He was a son of the late William and Hattie Westbrook Blackburn. He was also preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth Blackburn; daughter, Linda Hunt; and brothers: Braston, Delmus, Earl and Ralph Blackburn.      

Robert attended First Baptist and Concord Baptist Churches. He enjoyed fishing and tending to his garden.

Surviving is his loving wife of 19 years, Louise Ramsey Blackburn; son, David Blackburn and wife Terri of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Melissa Rampfer and husband Randal; brothers: A.D. (Durrell) Blackburn and wife Mary Jane of NC, Elmon Blackburn and wife Sandra of Virginia; sisters: Betty Fuchs and husband Les of Utah and Pearl Martin of NC; and a special niece, Cathy Ashburn and husband Ed and their son Paul of Elizabethton, TN.

Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 19th at Double Island Baptist Church Cemetery in Green Mountain, NC. Reverend Tommy James and Dr. Bradley Boone will officiate. Robert will lie in state Monday and Tuesday until 1 p.m.
