Nelda Cooper Obituary

Nelda Ruth Cooper, age 76, of Newdale, passed away Tuesday July 14th, 2020. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Mae Thomas.

Preceded in death is her loving husband; Richard “Dick” Cooper, son; Timothy Clay Fox, daughter; Lisa Fox and two brothers: Earl Thomas and Rex Thomas.

Surviving family members are grandson; Tucker David Jones of the home; sisters: Peggy Blevins of Spruce Pine, Flora Burleson of Micaville, Opal Burleson of Marion and Pearl Foster of California; a special sister-in-law; Susan Cooper Ray of Newdale. Nelda also had a little dog named Corky, her very best friend in the whole world.

Donations may be made to Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
