Mary Nadine (Elkins) Thomas

Mary Nadine Thomas, age 75 of Burnsville, passed away on Saturday, June 25th, 2022 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Cora Fox Elkins. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Clinton Thomas; and brother, Roger Elkins.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jackie Thomas of Burnsville and Basil Briggs (Mary Ann Hampton); sisters: Regina Hensley (Norman) and Vonda Owensby (Don), both of Burnsville; brothers: Ernest Elkins (Mildred) and Terry Elkins; grandchildren: Canyon Thomas, Drayden Thomas, Kelly Higgins, and Nikki Briggs; two great-grandchildren: Aurora Jackson and Isabel Rose Mullinex; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 30th, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the Robinson Family Cemetery on Bakers Creek Road in Burnsville.
