Kenneth Clyde Phillips, age 84, of Hardscrabble, passed away Thursday July 23rd, 2020 at Madison Health Care and Rehabilitation. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Guynia Phillips. He was preceded in death by his son, David Phillips who passed in 2011.Kenneth was also preceded in death by two sisters: Kathleen Roberts and Alma Summey.
Kenneth was a partner in Bailey and Phillips Drywall in Burnsville. He was a loving husband and father for many years.
Survivng are: his devoted wife of 60 years, Joan Cramer Phillips; sister, Judy King and husband Gene of Burnsville; grandchildren: Brittany Harris and husband Jonathan of Burnsville, Brooke Boone and husband Corey of Bakersville. Four great-granddaughters: Kirra, Logan, Bella and Aubrey Grey. Several nieces and nephews also survive — and special neighbors who were more like family.
A memorial service will be held on August 15th, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Gene King will officiate.
