Fred Louis Hall, age 86 of Micaville, passed away Monday, May 3rd, 2021 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville. He was born on March 2nd, 1935 to the late Dewey and Ethel Thomas Hall in the Double Island Community. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Breman Hall; his daughter, Michelle Marie Hall; and brothers, Roy Hall and Dewey Hall, Jr.
He graduated high school in 1952, where he went on to attend and graduate from Blanton’s Business and Traffic School in Asheville, Henry Ford Community College and Eastern Michigan University. He worked 25 years for the Ford Motor Co., before taking early retirement and moving back to his home here in North Carolina. Fred was a member of the American Legion and was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving is his wife, Lorrain Woody Hall; step–son, David Johnson (Karen); step–grandson, Jeremiah Johnson (Brittany); granddaughter, Jessica Johnson Letterman (David); great–grandchildren: Cori Letterman, Dawson Letterman, Kayleigh and Eva Johnson; sister, Glenda Hall Owens; and numerous nephews and nieces also survive.
Services will be held Friday, May 7th at Double Island Baptist Church at 3 p.m., of which Fred was a member. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Reverend Rick Woody will officiate. Burial will take place in the Double Island Church Cemetery in Burnsville.
