Elaine Stafford Fender, age 77 of Fairview, passed away Saturday, January 9th 2021 at AdventHealth in Hendersonville. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Louise Aiken Stafford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Fender, in 2019.
Elaine was a hairdresser, she was the owner of Mi-Lady’s Beauty Isle Salon in Black Mountain, NC. She loved her grandchildren and family, she also enjoyed farming, florals and arranging flower-displays, listening to country and gospel music, woodworking and of course, spending time with her pet dog.
Surviving are her daughters; Katrina Buckner and husband Greg of Fletcher, NC and Lindy Fender Yelton of Fairview, NC; brother, Doug Stafford and wife Rebecca of Concord, NC; nieces, Tinky Whittington and husband Joey, and Jamie Jones and husband Justin; six grandchildren: Greg Buckner Jr. and wife Christina, Erich Buckner, Colby Scroggs and wife Lashay, Sydney Yelton, Sarah Buckner and Taylor Buckner; three great-grandchildren: Hannah-Grace Tweedie, Wyatt Buckner and Lainey Wilson.
Private Family Services will be held Thursday, January 14th in the Zack Fender Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorial donations to be made to the Zack Fender Cemetery Fund in care of Hobert Phillips, 5350 Bald Mountain Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
