Annie Buchanan Dover, age 88 of Burnsville, passed away Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Bertie Robinson Buchanan. She was the wife of the Arthur Dover, who died in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her sons: Randall Dover and Gerry Dover; brothers: Claude, Emery, Leland, Ray and Edison Buchanan; sisters: Elsie Cassidy and June Laws.
She and her husband, Arthur, owned and operated Dover’s Shell and Convenience Store for over 35 years.
Surviving are her sons, Norris Dover and Bo Dover (Tracy) of Burnsville; four grandchildren: Ashley, Stephanie, Norris Lee II and Lucie; six great-grandchildren: Harlie, Wyatt, Paul Thomas, Andrew, Samuel and little Annie; brothers: Jack Buchanan of Baltimore, Marvin Buchanan of Hickory, and Vernon Buchanan of Spruce Pine; sister, Glenna Dillinger of Georgia.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 8th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Reverend Tommy James will officiate. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church at 51 Town Square, Burnsville, NC 28714.
