William Daniel Elliott

William Daniel Elliott, age 79, of Newdale, NC passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. William, better known as Danny, graduated from East Yancey High School in 1962. Danny led the football team as a full back and enjoyed sports and outdoor activities. Danny worked at Air Preheater as a lead welder. He retired from Columbia Carolina as foreman in research and development. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors. Danny was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of Newdale Community.

Danny was born to True and Latt Jr. Elliott on December 15, 1944, in Spruce Pine, NC. Danny was preceded by his parents True and Latt Jr. Elliott, his daughter Mary Ann Wiseman, and his sister Melba Randolph. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Peterson of the home, and his 4 children Lesia and Dr. Miguel Cruz of Burnsville, NC, Chris Elliott of Rutherfordton, NC, Justin Keith and Alejandra Tovar of Hendersonville, NC, James and Victoria Elliott of Burnsville, NC. He was also survived by his sister Brenda Ledford and husband Gene, grandchildren Angel Cruz and husband Sean Bloszies, Michael Cruz, Amanda Hudgins and husband Adam, Derrick Wiseman and wife Kacey, Kimberly Abigal, Owen Mcintosh (Elliott) and Finn Elliott, Eliana Keith Tovar. Great Grandchildren Melody, Ezekial, Aracely, and Emma.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Faith Fellowship Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the service will be at 3:00 pm. Reverend David Gillespie will be officiating. Interment will follow the service at Faith Fellowship Cemetery in Newdale.
